API Hub
Keep old versions and hear about new ones.
Each version preserves what was released at the time, even after it is withdrawn. Follow an API to hear when a new version is announced, becomes available, or is withdrawn.

Version history
Every version of an API has its own evidence.
Example using a fictional weather data API: version three switches to API keys, while version two’s no-authentication record remains. Incorrect records can be corrected with evidence. New content belongs to the next version.

Five events
Record each event from announcement to withdrawal.
A version can pass through several dates. REZICS does not combine them into one.
Announced
The provider says a new version is coming. This is an announcement, not a release.
Scheduled
A planned date is published. If it changes, the earlier date stays in the history.
Available
Confirmed as ready to use, with a source for the confirmation.
Delayed
The planned date moves later. A delay is not a cancellation, which is marked separately.
Withdrawn
The provider withdraws the version. Its record remains and its status changes to withdrawn.
A released version’s record is never rewritten. Later changes belong to the next version.
Follow
Choose how much you hear when following an API.
Following is free and does not require the provider’s permission. Each follow has a notification level that determines which updates reach your inbox.
All
Notify you about new versions, announcements, decisions, and regular posts.
Highlights
Notify you about new versions, announcements, and decisions only.
Off
Keep regular updates in your activity feed. Direct interactions, such as replies and mentions, still notify you.
